On October 13, 2014, the 247th Oriental Science and Technology Forum sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering and hosted by the University of Shanghai for Science Technology was held in Shanghai. The conference was co-chaired by Academician Zhuang Songlin of University of Shanghai for Science Technology, Academician Luo Jun of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Academician Zhu Nenghong of Shanghai Observatory. The conference also included the California Institute of Technology, the University of Florida, the University of Tokyo, the University of Glasgow, the Institute of High Energy Physics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Nearly 40 experts and scholars, including the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Mechanics, the Institute of Applied Mathematics, Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University, Chongqing University, China University of Science and Technology, Lanzhou University and Harbin University of Technology, were invited to attend and give a report on the measurement of optical elements with large curvature radius in LIGO project. In the report, Chairman Hansen first briefly introduced the background and purpose of this forum, then described the interferometer used to detect large curvature radius optical elements in LIGO project, and gave the measurement results.
